Subject: Weird problem - attachments renamed in incoming mail
Feedback Type: Problem
Product Area: Notes Client
Technical Area: Functionality
Platform: Windows
Release: 8.5.2
Reproducible: Always

This is a very odd problem, and one seems to be affecting a single user thus far:

On incoming email, the attachments are renamed if the user edits the mail document. Something will rename them to a random, 8-character name but keep the file extension. For example, the file "myimage.jpg" would get renamed to "ATTXXX.jpg". Saving the document seems to replace the correctly-named attachments with the randomly-named duplicates.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

(This would not ordinarily be a serious problem, but this client is also using iExtensions, which under some circumstances will automatically save the mail documents when they are read.)
